Description; Oil on canvas. In contemporary frame. Herbert A. Morgan Jr. was born in 1907 in New York City. As a young man, he lived in Paris and studied sculpture. While in France, he took up painting and completed a number of paintings of the French country side. Some of his paintings were part of the Whitney Museum Collection. Mr. Morgan was also an architect and practiced for the most part in New York City. He continued to paint landscapes and other subjects in New York and at his summer home in New England.
